What the hell is Doujinshi from Japan?

Doujinshi is a Japanese word and in English it means fan book.
You know manga right? ?Japanese comic book? well Japan has Manga for everyone!
House wives, office men, high school kids, elementary kids, etc?
It is a very big business in Japan and a major part of the culture.

Let?s say a Japanese comic for house wives called ?Japanese boy? by a famous comic writer took off and sold like crazy. A group of underground artists may take this Japanese
Comic and re-write it, print 500 to 1,000 copies and sell it underground to a group of fans/followers. Doujinshi is for the hardcore manga lover.
You can buy doujinshi in Japan for 200 to 500 yen or more.
Each book has only about 18 to 30 pages which is mostly art with a small story.
I am not a writer but I would really like to share this cazy thing called doujinshi with you so here is the best way for you to get what I?m talking about.
Go to ebay in America and do a search or doujinshi.
You will soon see what this is all about.
I?m not into it but there are people making a killing on ebay selling these books for 500% mark up! I?ve seen two dollar doujinshi from Japan sell on ebay for 100 dollars!!
That?s crazy but so is the underground sub culture of comic art or in this case ?doujinshi!?
