Oden stew in Japan!

Hello from Japan!

I had to post this photo of oden!
japan7
This pic was taken inside a Japanese 7-11 convenient
store.
Oden is popular to eat when it starts getting cold.
Now it?s getting cold in Japan so out comes the oden pots!
Japanese people love this stuff because they love fish
and what you?re looking at in the pot is made from
processed fish then boilded.

The processed fish is shaped into all kinds of shapes
and some of these shapes look like a tub where the
Japanese put a hot dog inside.

Some people call oden a stew.
In the pot you will find eggs, daikon radish, seaweed, fish cakes and dough balls.
Many ingredients are simmered in a kelp stock for several hours.
I tried it and liked it very much and you should give it a try too.
